Job Description

Job Title: Data Eng Intern

Location: Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)

Program Dates: September - May

Primary Responsibilities: The Data Eng Intern will support the Data and Analytics team at Maymont Homes, a single-family rental company and subsidiary of Brookfield Properties. This role offers hands-on experience working with real business data to help improve leasing, maintenance, and operational performance. The intern will assist with building reports, running analyses, and supporting data-driven projects across departments.

Skills & Competencies

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
• Basic proficiency in SQL, and experience writing queries.
• Introductory knowledge of Python
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel; exposure to Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Interest in real estate, housing, or property management is a plus.
  
  

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in development of Data Pipelines that extract and transform data for consumption using Python
• Assist in developing and running SQL queries to support leasing, maintenance, and resident data.
• Help clean and organize datasets for use in data science, reporting, and analysis.
• Work with analysts and engineers to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing data projects.
• Support ad hoc reporting and data requests from business departments.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
