Madelia Health is seeking a Part-Time Dietary Cook to support our Food & Nutrition Services team. This role plays an important part in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to our patients, Meals-On-Wheels recipients, and employees. Under the supervision of the Dietary Supervisor, the Dietary Cook prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, Meals-On-Wheels participants, and Madelia Health employees. This position supports daily meal preparation while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Schedule details discussed during the interview process
Opportunity to support weekday and/or weekend meal service
Review menus to determine food preparation needs and quantities
Prepare and serve meals using kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, blenders, and knives
Prepare and serve patient trays, Meals-On-Wheels meals, and employee meals
Clean and sanitize work areas throughout the shift
Record the number of meals served per meal
Monitor and document refrigerator, freezer, and food temperatures
Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation guidelines
Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations
Education: High school diploma not required; must be able to read and write written instructions
Experience: One year of quantity cooking experience preferred
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Ability to stand, walk, lift, stoop, and carry food and kitchen equipment
Ability to taste and smell food to ensure quality
Knowledge of food preparation methods, including meats
Ability to operate kitchen equipment and manage meal preparation timelines
