Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a full-time DSP Training Lead. The Direct Support Professional Training Lead is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality training programs for DSPs to ensure compliance with organizational standards, state regulations, and best practices in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Training Development & Delivery
  • Design and implement onboarding and ongoing training programs for DSPs, including person-centered practices, health and safety, crisis intervention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions to enhance DSP skills and knowledge.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all training meets state and federal requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate training records and monitor DSP certification status.
• Mentorship & Support
  • Serve as a resource and coach for DSPs, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting challenges in the field.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to identify training needs and performance gaps.
• Program Evaluation & Improvement
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, observation, and performance metrics.
  • Continuously update training materials to reflect current regulations and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or related field preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a DSP or in a similar role within IDD services.
  • Prior experience in training, coaching, or staff development strongly preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt training methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
