Job Title: Human Resources/Recruitment Intern
Location: Remote

About the Role:
The Human Resources/Recruitment Intern will support recruiting, onboarding, and talent outreach initiatives to help 1 Alpha Consulting LLC identify and engage top candidates. This internship offers hands-on experience in key HR processes, contributing to the company’s mission of delivering excellence in consulting and staffing services throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.

Responsibilities and Impact:
As a Human Resources/Recruitment intern, you will:
  • Assist with sourcing, screening, and contacting potential candidates for open positions.
  • Help maintain accurate records in applicant tracking systems and spreadsheets.
  • Support onboarding activities including new hire paperwork and compliance record management.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support full-cycle recruitment processes.
  • Participate in workforce planning discussions and recruiting strategy meetings.
  • Research job boards, social media platforms, and local partnerships to expand talent pipelines.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting career fairs or outreach events.
  • Contribute to HR projects focused on employee engagement, process improvement, or data analysis.
These responsibilities are not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and interest in learning HRIS/CRM systems.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with an ability to handle confidential information.
Standout Qualifications:
  • Prior coursework or experience in recruiting, HR operations, or administrative support.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in talent acquisition or human resources.
  • Comfortable communicating with professionals across multiple industries.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and typing at a computer.
  • Consistent, reliable internet connection in a quiet workspace.
  • Frequent use of online communication tools including video conferencing, chat, and email.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively across different tasks in a remote setting.
  • Occasionally adjust focus between on-screen work and written documentation.
Pay Range:
$15.00/hour (funded under the SBII Internship Initiative)
Interns may work up to 100 hours during Year 1 through the Shippensburg University SBDC program.  Additional hours may be available outside of the SBDC program as needed.
